So, you read the FAQ’s, but they don’t help. Maybe you’re having an issue with the center screen not turning on, getting error messages on the screen behind the steering wheel, autopilot isn’t working, etc.
Well, just like your PC or cell phone, sometimes you just need to reboot it.
Reset the center 17″ touchscreen (Model X & Model 3)
Hold both scroll wheels for 10 seconds and the center screen will start to reset.
Reset the dash screen behind the steering wheel (Model X Only)
Hold both buttons above the scroll wheels for 10 seconds and the dash screen will start to reset.
Reset the whole car (mostly – Model X Only)
Make sure all doors are shut.
Put your foot on the brake.
Hold both the scroll wheels and the buttons above the scroll wheels (4 fingers required) for 30+ seconds.
Keep your foot on the brake until the reset is complete.
Then, if all of these fail to fix the issue, it might be time to call Tesla roadside assistance.
